Del Ward collection, 1938-2007.

The collection consists of material covering Del Ward's years in radio and television up until about 1997. Included are awards, letters, printed material, scripts, guest registers, photographs, slides, writings and other items. Many of the letters are from her guests and people who listened to or watched her shows. The photographs include publicity shots and images of her in the studio, interviewing celebrities on her show as well as in other places (including the Star Weekend in Atlanta), and reporting at local events. Also included in the collection is a group of celebrity photographs, many of them autographed.

Del Ward is a Georgia radio and television personality. She was born and grew up in Macon, Georgia. After graduating from Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia, she worked briefly for WNEX Radio in Macon. She went on to work at WHOT Radio in South Bend, IN, and was the first female disc jockey there.
